Nissan 240SX S13/S14 Power Steering Rack Hard Line Replacement Kit
The JBtuned Nissan 240SX S13/S14 Power Steering Rack Hard Line Replacement Kit replaces the two rigid hydraulic lines mounted directly to the factory-style steering rack with flexible PTFE hose assemblies and stainless-steel fittings.
These small factory hard lines can become bent, damaged, corroded or difficult to work around after years of engine, transmission and steering-system service. The JBtuned kit replaces both lines with pre-assembled flexible hoses while retaining hydraulic power steering.
This kit replaces the two hard lines on the steering rack itself. It does not replace the main high-pressure hose running from the power-steering pump to the rack.

What These Lines Actually Replace
The Nissan 240SX power-steering system contains several different hydraulic lines, and these rack lines are often confused with the larger power-steering hoses running through the engine bay.
This JBtuned kit replaces the two short hard lines installed directly on the steering rack. These lines transfer hydraulic fluid between sections of the steering-rack assembly.
The kit does not replace the main high-pressure hose between the power-steering pump and steering rack, the reservoir feed hose or the remainder of the power-steering plumbing.
Replacing Old or Damaged Factory Rack Hard Lines
S13 and S14 chassis are now decades old, and the original steering-rack hard lines may have been exposed to corrosion, road debris, previous repairs and repeated engine or transmission removal.
The rigid factory lines are also located in an area where they can be bent or damaged while major drivetrain components are being installed or removed.
The JBtuned replacement kit provides a practical solution when the original lines are damaged, deteriorated or simply something you would prefer to replace while servicing the steering rack.
Flexible Replacement Instead of Rigid Hard Lines
The factory rack plumbing uses rigid formed tubing that must follow a specific path across the steering rack.
JBtuned replaces those sections with flexible PTFE hose assemblies, giving the installer more freedom during installation and reducing the need to reproduce the original hard-line bends.
The lines should still be routed and supported carefully so they remain clear of moving steering components, the engine, exhaust system and other potential abrasion or heat sources.
PTFE Hose with Stainless-Steel Fittings
The JBtuned rack-line assemblies use a PTFE inner liner with stainless-steel woven reinforcement.
A black PVC outer covering protects the braided reinforcement from abrasion and gives the finished lines a subdued appearance underneath the vehicle.
The assemblies use hydraulically crimped hose ends and stainless-steel fittings, with protective heat shrink used around the crimp areas.
Factory-Style Steering Rack Compatibility
This kit is designed around the compatible steering-rack configuration used in Nissan 240SX S13 and S14 applications.
Aftermarket replacement steering racks may use different hydraulic-port designs, sealing methods or connection dimensions than the original Nissan rack.
Because of those possible differences, do not assume that an aftermarket rack is compatible simply because it is sold as an S13 or S14 replacement.

Fitment is based on the steering rack and hydraulic-port configuration installed in the vehicle.
Many S-chassis vehicles have had steering racks replaced or modified over the years, so verify the rack currently installed rather than relying only on the chassis year.
Not the Main High-Pressure Power Steering Hose
This product should not be confused with the high-pressure power-steering hose running between the power-steering pump and steering rack.

Useful During Steering Rack or Drivetrain Service
Replacing the rack hard lines can make sense while the vehicle is already apart for steering-rack service, engine removal, transmission removal or a larger engine-swap project.
With the drivetrain out of the way, access to the steering rack is significantly better and the condition of the original hard lines can be inspected more easily.
If the original lines are bent, corroded or damaged during removal, the JBtuned kit eliminates the need to locate another set of aging factory hard lines.
Installation Notes
- This kit replaces the two hydraulic hard lines mounted directly on the steering rack.
- Confirm that the steering rack and hydraulic-port configuration are compatible before installation.
- Aftermarket and replacement racks may use different hydraulic connections from the original Nissan rack.
- Safely remove power-steering system pressure before disconnecting hydraulic lines.
- Keep the steering system and all fittings clean during installation to prevent contamination from entering the rack.
- Do not twist, kink or sharply bend the PTFE hose assemblies.
- Route the lines so they cannot contact the steering shaft, tie rods, suspension components, engine, exhaust system or other moving or high-temperature components.
- Make sure the hoses have adequate clearance throughout the steering system's complete range of movement.
- Use the correct power-steering fluid for the vehicle and steering-system configuration.
- After installation, properly bleed the power-steering system and inspect every connection for leaks.
- Recheck the lines and fittings after the first heat cycle and initial vehicle operation.
