Product Description
Walbro 450 F90000274 E85 / Flex-Fuel High Pressure In-Tank Fuel Pump
The Walbro / TI Automotive F90000274, commonly known as the Walbro 450 High Pressure, is a high-output in-tank fuel pump designed for gasoline and E85 / flex-fuel applications.
TI Automotive rates the F90000274 at 450 LPH at 40 PSI with a 112 PSI maximum published system pressure. It is the higher-pressure version of the earlier F90000267 Walbro 450, making it particularly useful in boosted fuel systems where total fuel pressure can rise well beyond base pressure.

F90000274 vs. F90000267 Walbro 450
The F90000267 and F90000274 are both members of the Walbro 450 flex-fuel pump family. The major difference is their published maximum system-pressure capability.
- F90000267 Walbro 450: 450 LPH, E85 / flex-fuel compatible, 87 PSI maximum published system pressure
- F90000274 Walbro 450 High Pressure: 450 LPH, E85 / flex-fuel compatible, 112 PSI maximum published system pressure
The F90000274 provides the additional pressure capability while retaining the same 450 LPH published flow rating at 40 PSI.
Fuel Pressure Matters When Choosing a Pump
A fuel pump should not be selected by its advertised flow number or a horsepower number alone. Fuel type, base fuel pressure, boost pressure, voltage at the pump, injector demand and the rest of the fuel system all affect how much fuel the pump can actually supply.
For example, a return-style fuel system running 43.5 PSI base fuel pressure and 30 PSI of boost with a 1:1 rising-rate regulator requires the pump to operate against approximately 73.5 PSI of fuel pressure.
Fuel-pump flow decreases as operating pressure increases. This is why the F90000274's higher published pressure capability can be important on turbocharged and supercharged combinations even though both versions of the Walbro 450 share the same 450 LPH rating at 40 PSI.
How Much Horsepower Can the Walbro 450 Support?
TI Automotive currently publishes horsepower reference figures of 550 HP low and 850 HP high for the F90000274. These figures should be treated as general pump-selection guidance rather than a fixed horsepower limit.
E85 requires more fuel volume than gasoline for the same power level, and increasing boost pressure also increases the fuel pressure the pump must work against. The pump should be selected around the actual fuel, pressure and flow requirements of the complete fuel system.
JBtuned Install Kit Option
The optional install kit offered with this pump is not a complete universal Walbro installation kit. JBtuned puts this kit together specifically for use with our fuel-pump hanger modification kits.
The F90000274 install-kit option includes:
- Walbro 450 universal fuel filter
- JBtuned fuel-pump pigtail
The JBtuned pigtail is built in-house using OEM-quality connectors and seals with upgraded 12 AWG Tefzel / Mil-Spec wire.
When using one of the JBtuned hanger modification kits, we recommend ordering the hanger kit and pump install kit together. The electrical bulkhead needs to be incorporated into the pump wiring arrangement, and available space on the hanger is extremely tight.
Building Your Own Fuel-Pump Wiring Pigtail?
The F90000274 uses the larger Walbro / TI Automotive connector family shared by the 400, 450, 525 and 535 pumps.
Walbro 400 / 450 / 525 / 535 Fuel Pump Connector Kit
This genuine OE-style connector kit includes:
- Connector body
- Wire lock
- 2 wire seals
- 3 terminals - one additional terminal is included for crimp practice
This is the correct connector kit if you want to build your own wiring pigtail for the F90000274 Walbro 450 on this page.
If you select the JBtuned install-kit option with this pump, a completed JBtuned fuel-pump pigtail is already included, so you do not need to purchase the connector kit separately unless you specifically want to build your own.
Compare JBtuned Walbro / TI Automotive Fuel Pumps
JBtuned carries several Walbro / TI Automotive in-tank fuel pumps. The correct pump depends on the fuel being used, required fuel volume, operating pressure and the requirements of the engine.

Before Installing a High-Flow Fuel Pump
A high-flow fuel pump is only one part of the complete fuel system. Make sure the pump wiring, electrical supply, filter, fuel lines, regulator, injectors, fittings and seals are capable of supporting the fuel flow and fuel type being used.
The F90000274 is designed for gasoline and E85 / flex-fuel applications, but every component in the complete fuel system must also be compatible with the fuel being used.
