The AEM 25-109BK D16Y7/D16Y8 High Volume Fuel Rail is designed specifically for compatible Honda D-Series engines using the D16Y7 and D16Y8 fuel-injection configuration.
With a 1/2-inch internal fuel bore, support for the factory fuel-line connection or upgraded fuel plumbing, and an auxiliary 1/8 NPT port, the 25-109BK can be used with a mostly factory Honda fuel system or incorporated into a much larger JBtuned feed-and-return fuel system.

The AEM 25-109BK is not a generic D-Series fuel rail. It is designed specifically around the D16Y7 and D16Y8 fuel-rail and injector configuration.
Original Honda applications include:
- 1996-2000 Honda Civic CX / DX / LX – D16Y7
- 1999 Honda Civic Value Package – D16Y7
- 1996-2000 Honda Civic EX – D16Y8
- 1996-1997 Honda Civic Del Sol S – D16Y7

Verify the engine installed in the vehicle before ordering. Honda used multiple fuel-rail and regulator configurations across the D-Series family, so the D-Series name alone does not confirm compatibility.
Choose the Fuel Pressure Regulator That Matches Your System
The 25-109BK can be used with several regulator configurations. The correct choice depends on whether the goal is simply replacing or upgrading the fuel rail or building a larger aftermarket fuel system around it.
Retain the Factory Honda Fuel Pressure Regulator
For a mostly factory fuel system, the appropriate OEM Honda fuel pressure regulator can remain in use with the AEM rail.
This is the simplest path when the goal is primarily to upgrade the rail while retaining the original fuel-system architecture, factory-style return system, and much of the existing Honda plumbing.
AEM Adjustable Rail-Mounted Regulator
If you want an adjustable regulator that mounts in the traditional Honda regulator position on the rail, the correct AEM version depends on the engine:
- D16Y7 → AEM 25-301BK
- D16Y8 → AEM 25-304BK
The D16Y7 and D16Y8 use the same AEM 25-109BK fuel rail, but they do not use the same rail-mounted regulator.

Larger JBtuned Feed-and-Return Systems
When the fuel rail becomes part of a larger aftermarket feed-and-return system, JBtuned commonly moves away from the engine-specific factory-style regulator arrangement and uses a universal regulator configuration such as the AEM 25-302BK Universal Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator.
The 25-302BK provides two female -6AN inlet ports, a female -6AN return port, a 1/8 NPT gauge / sensor port, and a 1:1 vacuum / boost reference, giving greater flexibility in how the fuel rail, regulator, feed, and return plumbing are arranged.

This is an alternative fuel-system architecture for larger builds rather than a required upgrade simply because the AEM rail is installed.
Factory Fuel System or Complete JBtuned Fuel System?
The AEM 25-109BK can remain useful through several different stages of a D-Series build.
Keeping most of the factory system? Use the supplied AEM fuel-line connection and retain the appropriate factory or rail-mounted regulator configuration.
Upgrading the complete fuel system? The same AEM rail can remain in place while the feed, return, regulator, filtration, pump capacity, and chassis plumbing are upgraded around it.
This allows the rail to work as a straightforward replacement today without becoming a dead end if the fuel system grows later.
Choose Your JBtuned D-Series Fuel-System Path
Level 1 - Retain the OEM Fuel Filter and Chassis Plumbing
If you are retaining the factory firewall-mounted fuel filter, factory chassis plumbing, and existing return architecture, start with the JBtuned D-Series OEM Filter-to-Rail Fuel Line.
Level 1 upgrades the engine-side feed connection between the OEM fuel filter and the fuel rail while leaving the rest of the original chassis fuel-system architecture in place.
This is the simplest JBtuned path when the goal is to connect the AEM rail without replacing the entire fuel system.
Level 3 - Tucked Engine-Bay Feed and Return Plumbing
If you want to remove the large OEM firewall-mounted fuel filter and upgrade the engine-bay feed and return plumbing, move to the JBtuned D-Series Fuel Line Tuck Kit.
Level 3 retains the factory chassis fuel lines while replacing the engine-bay plumbing with a cleaner feed-and-return configuration and compact inline fuel filter.
This is a natural next step when the AEM rail is being installed as part of a cleaner or more capable engine-bay fuel system rather than simply as a standalone rail replacement.
Full Tucked Fuel System - Complete Chassis Plumbing Replacement

E85-compatible plumbing alone does not make the vehicle flex fuel. True flex-fuel operation also requires an ethanol-content sensor, compatible electronics or ECU input, engine-management support, proper configuration, and tuning.
Which D-Series Fuel-System Level Do You Need?
- Just need to connect the AEM rail: Level 1
- Want cleaner engine-bay feed and return plumbing: Level 3

You do not need to replace the complete fuel system simply because you are installing an AEM fuel rail. Choose the architecture that matches what the vehicle needs now while leaving a clear path for future upgrades.
1/2-Inch High Volume Fuel Bore
The AEM 25-109BK uses a 1/2-inch internal fuel bore.
AEM rates the rail itself for fuel-flow capability in applications up to 1,000 horsepower. This is a fuel-rail flow specification and should not be interpreted as a horsepower rating for the complete vehicle or fuel system.
Actual fuel-system capability depends on the fuel pump, injectors, fuel type, feed and return plumbing, regulator, filtration, electrical supply, engine requirements, and tuning.
1/8 NPT Auxiliary Port
The fuel rail includes an additional 1/8 NPT auxiliary port that can be used with a compatible fuel-pressure gauge, pressure sensor, or other appropriate fuel-system accessory.
The port can remain plugged when it is not required.
Factory or Upgraded Fuel Plumbing
AEM supplies the fitting required to support the compatible factory fuel-line arrangement, allowing the 25-109BK to be installed without requiring the entire fuel system to be converted to aftermarket plumbing.
For larger fuel-system builds, the rail can instead be integrated with compatible AN fittings, aftermarket feed and return plumbing, and the regulator arrangement appropriate for the complete system.
Works with Stock or Upgraded Injectors
The AEM 25-109BK is designed around the D16Y7 / D16Y8 injector and intake-manifold configuration while supporting fuel systems with substantially greater flow capability than the original system.
When using aftermarket injectors, verify that the injectors are physically compatible with the D16Y7 / D16Y8 intake manifold and AEM fuel-rail configuration.

Important Fitment & Installation Information
The AEM 25-109BK is specifically intended for compatible D16Y7 and D16Y8 applications. Do not assume compatibility with another Honda D-Series engine simply because it belongs to the same engine family.
Fuel pressure must be safely relieved before removing or servicing the fuel rail. Inspect injector seals, O-rings, fittings, and other sealing components during installation and replace damaged components as required.
After installation, pressurize the fuel system and carefully inspect the rail, injectors, regulator, fittings, and fuel-line connections for leaks before starting or operating the vehicle.
