Product Description
EG EK Civic / 94-01 Integra Power Steering Delete Loop Kit
The JBtuned Power Steering Delete Loop Kit provides a clean way to loop the hydraulic ports on the factory power steering rack when removing the power steering pump, reservoir, and original hydraulic lines from compatible Honda Civic and Acura Integra applications.
Instead of leaving the steering-rack ports open after the hydraulic power steering system is removed, the JBtuned kit connects the appropriate rack ports with a compact JBtuned 250 Series hose assembly and application-specific fittings.
This allows the original power steering rack to remain in the vehicle while the external hydraulic power-assist components are removed.
Vehicle Fitment
- 1992-1995 Honda Civic – EG
- 1996-2000 Honda Civic – EK
- 1994-1995 Acura Integra – DC
- 1996-2001 Acura Integra – DC
Select the correct vehicle / steering-rack configuration when ordering so the appropriate fittings and hardware are supplied.
Vehicles with an aftermarket steering rack, swapped rack, manual rack, or rack from another chassis should have the port configuration verified before ordering.
Designed for Power Steering Delete Applications
The factory steering rack contains hydraulic passages that were originally connected to the power steering pump and hydraulic lines.
When the external hydraulic power steering system is removed, the JBtuned delete loop connects the appropriate rack ports together rather than leaving the ports open.
This provides a simple solution for retaining the factory power steering rack on vehicles where hydraulic assist is no longer being used.
JBtuned 250 Series Rack Loop Hose
Current JBtuned power steering delete kits use JBtuned 250 Series hose for the steering-rack loop assembly.
Earlier versions of the kit used heavier hydraulic hose. That construction was unnecessarily stiff for this application and made both assembly and installation more difficult.
The 250 Series hose provides a more flexible, easier-to-route solution for the compact loop required at the steering rack.
The hose assembly is configured to work with the application-specific rack fittings supplied with the kit.
Stainless Steel Steering Rack Fittings
The fittings that connect directly to the factory steering rack are made from stainless steel.
These application-specific fittings adapt the original metric steering-rack ports to the JBtuned loop hose assembly.
The correct fittings are supplied based on the vehicle selection made when ordering.
EG Civic & 1994-1995 Integra Rack Configuration
EG Civic and 1994-1995 Integra steering racks use an additional port that must also be closed when the hydraulic power steering system is removed.
These applications receive the required stainless steel rack fittings along with an additional aluminum plug for the extra steering-rack port.
EK Civic and 1996-2001 Integra applications do not use this additional aluminum plug.
What to Expect After Removing Power Steering Assist
This kit is intended for vehicles where the hydraulic power steering assist is being removed.
Steering effort will be heavier than with functioning power steering, particularly while parking or maneuvering the vehicle at very low speeds.
Once the vehicle is moving, steering effort is generally less noticeable than it is while the vehicle is stationary.
This Is Not a Manual Steering Rack Conversion
The JBtuned Power Steering Delete Loop Kit allows the original hydraulic power steering rack to remain in the vehicle after the external power-assist system has been removed.
It does not convert the internal steering rack into a factory-style manual steering rack.
Customers specifically wanting a dedicated manual steering rack would need to use an appropriate manual-rack conversion instead.
Rack Condition Matters
This kit is intended for a usable factory power steering rack when the customer wants to remove the hydraulic power steering system.
A power steering delete loop does not repair a leaking, damaged, binding, or mechanically worn steering rack.
Existing rack problems should be addressed separately before or during the power steering delete.
Why Use a Power Steering Delete Loop?
Power steering delete setups are commonly used on modified, engine-swapped, track-oriented, and simplified engine-bay builds where the owner no longer wants to retain the original hydraulic power steering system.
Removing the pump, reservoir, and original hydraulic lines can simplify the engine bay and eliminate the need to route the factory power steering plumbing around engine swaps, turbo systems, headers, and other modifications.
The JBtuned loop kit provides the connections needed at the steering rack without requiring the customer to source the individual adapters and hose components separately.
What's Included
- JBtuned 250 Series steering-rack loop hose assembly
- Stainless steel steering-rack fittings for the selected application
- Additional aluminum rack-port plug for EG Civic and 1994-1995 Integra applications
The power steering pump, reservoir, steering rack, and original hydraulic lines are not included.
Before Ordering
Select the correct vehicle / steering-rack configuration from the available options.
This kit is intended for vehicles retaining a compatible factory hydraulic power steering rack while removing the external hydraulic power-assist system.
If your vehicle has an aftermarket rack, swapped rack, manual steering rack, or steering rack from another chassis, verify the rack-port configuration before ordering.
