Product Description
EG / EK Civic, DC Integra & Del Sol D-Series Fuel Line Tuck Kit with Inline Filter (Level 3)
The JBtuned Level 3 D-Series Fuel Line Tuck Kit upgrades the engine-bay fuel system on compatible EG and EK Honda Civics, Honda Del Sols and applicable DC Acura Integras running a D-Series engine.
Level 3 removes the large OEM firewall-mounted fuel filter, replaces it with a compact inline filter and upgrades the engine bay to a clean 6AN feed-and-return layout while retaining the vehicle's factory chassis fuel hard lines.
This is Level 3 in the JBtuned D-Series fuel-system lineup: “I want it cleaner / tucked.”

What Level 3 Changes
Level 1 retains the factory firewall-mounted Honda fuel filter and existing chassis fuel plumbing. Level 3 goes farther by replacing both the engine-bay feed and return plumbing and removing the large OEM firewall fuel filter.
The vehicle's original chassis fuel-feed and fuel-return hard lines remain underneath the car and continue to carry fuel between the engine bay and fuel tank.
This provides a cleaner engine-bay layout without requiring a complete tank-to-engine-and-back fuel-system replacement.
Modification of the existing chassis fuel-line connection points is required during installation.
Compact Inline Fuel Filter
The Level 3 D-Series Fuel Line Tuck Kit includes a compact e85Freaks inline mini fuel filter in place of the large OEM firewall-mounted filter.
- Filter Element: Replaceable 30-micron bronze element
- Seals: Viton
- Construction: Serviceable inline design
The smaller filter allows the feed-side plumbing to fit naturally into the tucked engine-bay layout while retaining a serviceable fuel filter in the system.
6AN Feed & Return Plumbing
Level 3 uses a 6AN engine-bay fuel feed and 6AN engine-bay return.
The JBtuned line assemblies connect the vehicle's existing chassis fuel plumbing to the D-Series fuel rail and regulator configuration selected when ordering.
JBtuned supplies the configured line assemblies and required connection components so you do not have to determine the individual AN fittings and adapters needed to assemble the engine-bay system yourself.
250 Series Fuel Hose - Pump Gasoline
The Level 3 D-Series Fuel Line Tuck Kit uses JBtuned 250 Series rubber-core fuel hose and is intended for conventional pump-gasoline applications.
250 Series hose is not intended for continuous or full-time E85 use.
If the vehicle will regularly run E85, ethanol-based race fuel or requires broader long-term fuel compatibility, use the JBtuned Level 4 D-Series Full Tucked Fuel System with the appropriate 350 Series PTFE configuration.
Fuel compatibility and flex-fuel engine management are separate considerations. PTFE-compatible plumbing alone does not make the vehicle a flex-fuel system.
OEM or Aftermarket D-Series Fuel Rail
The D-Series Level 3 Fuel Line Tuck Kit can be configured for the factory Honda D-Series fuel rail or compatible aftermarket D-Series fuel rails.
Select the fuel rail installed on the engine when ordering so JBtuned can configure the appropriate fuel-system connections.
If your fuel rail is not represented in the available options, contact JBtuned before ordering.
Fuel Pressure Regulator Configuration
The standard Level 3 system is designed around a rail-mounted fuel pressure regulator configuration.
Depending on the selected fuel-rail configuration, the system can be used with compatible factory-style or aftermarket rail-mounted regulators.
The factory Honda regulator uses a smaller return connection than the 6AN return plumbing used elsewhere in the Level 3 system, so the regulator-side connection must be correctly configured for the selected setup.
If you are unsure whether your fuel rail and regulator combination is appropriate for the kit, contact JBtuned before ordering.
Cleaner Tucked Engine-Bay Layout
A fuel tuck system does not mean every fuel hose disappears from view.
The purpose of Level 3 is to reduce unnecessary visual clutter and create a cleaner, more organized fuel-system layout by removing the large OEM firewall filter and replacing the original engine-bay feed and return plumbing.
Final routing depends on the intake manifold, fuel rail, regulator, header, turbocharger and other components installed in the vehicle.
Vehicle & Engine Fitment
- 1992-1995 Honda Civic EG with D-Series engine
- 1996-2000 Honda Civic EK with D-Series engine
- 1993-1997 Honda Del Sol with D-Series engine
- Applicable 1994-2001 Acura Integra DC chassis with D-Series swap
- D15 engine combinations
- D16 engine combinations
- SOHC VTEC D-Series combinations
- Non-VTEC D-Series combinations
- Other compatible Honda D-Series engines
Final fitment depends on the chassis, fuel rail, fuel pressure regulator, intake manifold and surrounding engine-bay components.
If your combination is unusual or your components are not represented in the available options, contact JBtuned before ordering.
Ordering Options
Vehicle / Chassis: Select the EG Civic, EK Civic, Del Sol or applicable DC Integra with a D-Series swap receiving the Fuel Line Tuck Kit.
Fuel Rail: Select the factory Honda or aftermarket D-Series fuel rail installed on the engine. Different rails require different connection configurations.
Fuel Pressure Regulator: Select the compatible rail-mounted regulator being used with the system. The fuel rail and regulator combination determines the appropriate return-side connection.
Inspect the Factory Chassis Fuel Lines
Level 3 retains the vehicle's original chassis feed and return hard lines underneath the vehicle.
Because EG Civic, EK Civic, Del Sol and DC Integra chassis are now decades old, the condition of the original fuel lines should be inspected carefully before installation.
Factory hard lines showing significant corrosion, physical damage, deterioration or leakage should be replaced rather than reused simply because Level 3 is designed to connect to them.
If the existing chassis plumbing is no longer suitable for continued service, the fuel system should be upgraded with replacement chassis plumbing.
Want to Replace the Factory Chassis Fuel Lines Later?
Level 3 allows you to upgrade and clean up the engine bay while continuing to use serviceable factory chassis fuel lines.
If those lines later need replacement, the JBtuned Fuel System Extension Kit continues the existing Level 3 feed and return plumbing back to the fuel tank.
This allows you to retain the JBtuned engine-bay system you already purchased while replacing the remaining factory chassis plumbing.
Upgrade the Feed & Return Together
If Level 3 is expanded with aftermarket chassis fuel plumbing, the feed and return should be upgraded together.
The Fuel System Extension Kit continues both sides of the existing Level 3 system from the engine bay back to the fuel tank and is the appropriate modular chassis upgrade for this system.
Fuel Pump Hanger & Under-Car Line Support
Extending Level 3 all the way to the fuel tank requires appropriate aftermarket feed-and-return connections at the fuel-pump hanger.
If the factory sending unit has not already been configured for the aftermarket AN plumbing and fuel pump being used, see the JBtuned Civic / Integra OEM Fuel Pump Hanger Upgrade Kit for compatible applications.
For compatible EG, EK and DC chassis, JBtuned also offers JBtuned EG EK Civic / DC Integra Fuel & Brake Line Holder Brackets for supporting compatible aftermarket fuel lines underneath the vehicle while allowing the OEM brake hard lines to remain in place.
These brackets are intended for JBtuned and compatible aftermarket fuel lines rather than the original OEM fuel lines.
Need a Complete Flex-Fuel-Sensor Configuration?
If you want to replace the complete chassis fuel plumbing and specifically want the fuel-system layout configured around an ethanol-content sensor, consider the JBtuned D-Series Complete Flex-Fuel System.
The standard D-Series Level 4 Full Tucked Fuel System can also be configured with JBtuned 350 Series PTFE hose for E85 and broader fuel compatibility. The Complete Flex-Fuel System is specifically arranged around ethanol-content-sensor integration.
You do not need the sensor-specific system simply because the vehicle will run E85.
Not sure which configuration is appropriate? Read our guide to E85, PTFE fuel lines and flex-fuel systems.
JBtuned D-Series Fuel-System Levels
- Level 1 - “I Just Need the Feed Line”: Retains the OEM firewall filter, factory chassis plumbing and existing return-side system while replacing or upgrading the filter-to-rail fuel-feed line.
- Level 3 - “I Want It Cleaner / Tucked”: Retains the factory chassis feed and return lines, removes the OEM firewall filter, adds a compact inline filter and upgrades the engine bay to a 6AN feed-and-return layout. You are here.
- Level 4 - “I Want to Replace Everything”: Replaces the complete factory chassis feed and return plumbing from the fuel tank to the engine and back, with hose series and system configuration selected to match the build.
Which D-Series Fuel System Should I Choose?
Choose Level 1 if you only want to replace or upgrade the filter-to-rail fuel-feed line while retaining the OEM firewall filter and existing chassis plumbing.
Choose Level 3 if you want to remove the large OEM firewall filter, add a compact inline filter and use a cleaner 6AN engine-bay feed-and-return layout while retaining the factory chassis fuel lines.
Choose Level 4 if you want to replace the factory chassis fuel plumbing with a complete aftermarket feed-and-return system from the fuel tank to the engine and back.
Installation Notes
- Level 3 removes the OEM firewall-mounted fuel filter and replaces the engine-bay fuel plumbing while retaining the factory chassis fuel hard lines.
- Modification of the existing chassis fuel-line connection points is required during installation.
- Inspect the original chassis hard lines carefully before reuse.
- Fuel lines showing significant corrosion, damage, deterioration or leakage should be replaced.
- All fuel lines must be securely routed away from exhaust components, sharp edges, moving parts and areas where excessive heat or abrasion may damage the hose.
- Turbocharged and other high-heat applications require additional attention to fuel-line routing and thermal protection.
- After installation, pressurize the fuel system and carefully inspect every connection for leaks before starting or operating the vehicle.
Professional installation is recommended if you are unfamiliar with AN fuel plumbing or chassis fuel-line modification.
For off-road use only.
