D-Series Fuel Line Tuck Kit with Inline Filter

The JBtuned D-Series Fuel Line Tuck Kit is the Level 3 fuel-system upgrade for compatible EG and EK Honda Civics and Honda Del Sols equipped with a D-Series engine.

Level 3 upgrades the engine-bay fuel system to a clean 6AN feed-and-return layout, removes the large OEM firewall-mounted fuel filter, and replaces it with a compact inline filter while retaining the vehicle's factory chassis fuel hard lines.

This is the right step for a D-Series owner who wants to clean up the engine bay and replace more of the aging factory fuel plumbing without committing to a complete tank-to-engine fuel-system replacement.

Level 3 – “I Want It Cleaner / Tucked”

This is Level 3 in the JBtuned D-Series fuel-system lineup: “I want it cleaner / tucked.”

Level 3 goes beyond the basic OEM-filter-based Level 1 setup by replacing both the engine-bay feed and return plumbing and removing the bulky factory firewall-mounted fuel filter.

The factory chassis feed and return hard lines remain in place underneath the vehicle, allowing you to substantially clean up and modernize the engine-bay fuel system without replacing everything at once.

Removes the OEM Firewall Fuel Filter

One of the biggest changes at Level 3 is the removal of the factory firewall-mounted Honda fuel filter.

The original filter is replaced by a compact inline filter incorporated into the new engine-bay fuel-feed system.

This removes one of the larger pieces of factory fuel-system hardware from the firewall area and creates a cleaner, more organized engine-bay layout.

Compact Inline Fuel Filter

The D-Series Level 3 Fuel Line Tuck Kit includes a compact e85Freaks inline mini fuel filter.

The smaller inline filter replaces the bulky OEM firewall filter while maintaining a serviceable fuel filter in the system.

6AN Feed & Return Plumbing

Level 3 upgrades the engine bay to a 6AN fuel feed and 6AN fuel return.

Both sides of the engine-bay fuel system are replaced together, creating a cleaner AN-style connection between the existing chassis hard lines and the D-Series fuel rail and regulator configuration.

JBtuned supplies the configured fuel-line assemblies and connection components needed for the selected setup so you do not have to piece together the engine-bay fuel system from individual fittings and hose.

Retains the Factory Chassis Fuel Lines

Level 3 replaces the engine-bay portion of the fuel system while retaining the factory feed and return hard lines underneath the vehicle.

For many D-Series Civics and Del Sols, this provides a practical middle ground between replacing a single engine-bay fuel line and replacing the entire fuel system.

The original chassis lines can remain in service as long as they are in suitable condition for the application.

Modification of the existing chassis fuel-line connection points is required during installation.

Inspect the Original Chassis Fuel Lines

These vehicles are now several decades old, so the condition of the original chassis fuel plumbing should be inspected carefully before installing the Level 3 system.

Factory hard lines showing significant corrosion, damage, leakage, or deterioration should not be reused simply because Level 3 is designed to retain them.

If the chassis fuel lines need to be replaced, the Level 3 system can be expanded later using the JBtuned Fuel System Extension Kit.

250 Series Rubber Hose – Pump Gasoline

The D-Series Level 3 Fuel Line Tuck Kit uses JBtuned 250 Series rubber-core braided fuel hose.

JBtuned 250 Series hose is intended for conventional pump gasoline.

While occasional exposure to E85 may occur in some applications, the 250 Series hose is not intended for continuous or full-time E85 use.

If your D-Series build is intended for continuous E85, ethanol-based race fuels, or broader long-term fuel compatibility, consider a complete D-Series fuel system using the appropriate JBtuned 350 Series PTFE hose.

OEM or Aftermarket D-Series Fuel Rail

The D-Series Fuel Line Tuck Kit can be configured for the factory Honda D-Series fuel rail or compatible aftermarket D-Series fuel rails.

Select the fuel rail installed on the engine when ordering so JBtuned can configure the appropriate fuel-system connections.

Fuel Pressure Regulator Configuration

The Level 3 system is designed around a rail-mounted fuel pressure regulator configuration.

It can be configured for compatible aftermarket rail-mounted regulators or the factory-style D-Series regulator arrangement depending on the fuel rail and regulator selected.

The factory Honda regulator uses a relatively small return connection compared with the 6AN return plumbing used elsewhere in the Level 3 system, so the regulator-side connection must be properly configured and inspected carefully during installation.

Cleaner D-Series Engine Bay

A fuel tuck system does not mean every fuel hose disappears from view.

The goal of Level 3 is to remove unnecessary factory fuel-system clutter and create a cleaner, more organized engine-bay layout.

Removing the OEM firewall filter and replacing the original feed and return plumbing gives the D-Series engine bay a cleaner AN-style appearance while maintaining practical serviceability.

Final routing depends on the intake manifold, fuel rail, regulator, header, turbo system, and other components installed in the car.

Fuel Pump Hanger Requirements When Extending to the Tank

Extending the fuel system all the way to the tank requires compatible aftermarket feed-and-return connections at the fuel-pump hanger.

Under-Car Fuel-Line Mounting

If Level 3 is later expanded with the Fuel System Extension Kit, the new chassis fuel lines must be securely supported underneath the vehicle.

Which D-Series Fuel System Do I Need?

• Level 1 – “I just need the feed line.” Keep the OEM firewall filter, chassis plumbing, and existing return side while replacing or upgrading the filter-to-rail feed line.
• Level 2 – “I want feed & return.” Planned configuration retaining the OEM firewall filter and factory chassis lines while upgrading both engine-bay fuel lines.
• Level 3 – “I want it cleaner/tucked.” Keep the factory chassis lines, remove the OEM firewall filter, add a compact inline filter, and upgrade the engine-bay feed and return plumbing.
• Level 4 – “I want to replace everything.” Replace the complete factory chassis feed and return plumbing with a full D-Series fuel system.

Building a Complete Flex-Fuel D-Series System?

If your build specifically requires a complete fuel-system layout configured around ethanol-content-sensor integration, consider the JBtuned D-Series Complete Flex-Fuel System .

E85-compatible plumbing alone does not make a vehicle flex fuel. True flex-fuel operation also requires an ethanol-content sensor, compatible engine-management electronics, and appropriate tuning.

Pump Gas, E85 & Flex Fuel

This Level 3 D-Series Fuel Line Tuck Kit uses JBtuned 250 Series hose and is intended for conventional pump-gas applications.

If you are planning continuous E85 use, fuel compatibility must be considered across the entire fuel system, including hose, filter, seals, regulator, fuel pump, and other fuel-contact components.

Ordering Options Explained

Vehicle / Chassis

Select the EG Civic, EK Civic, Del Sol, or applicable DC Integra with D-Series swap receiving the fuel system.

Fuel Rail

Select the factory or aftermarket D-Series fuel rail installed on the engine.

Different fuel rails require different connection configurations.

Fuel Pressure Regulator

Select the compatible rail-mounted fuel pressure regulator being used with the system.

The selected fuel rail and regulator combination determines the appropriate return-side connection.

Installation Information

Level 3 removes the OEM firewall-mounted fuel filter and replaces the engine-bay fuel plumbing with a 6AN feed-and-return layout while retaining the factory chassis fuel hard lines.

Modification of the existing chassis fuel-line connection points is required during installation.

Inspect the original chassis hard lines carefully before reuse. Fuel lines showing significant corrosion, damage, deterioration, or leakage should be replaced.

All fuel lines must be securely routed away from exhaust components, sharp edges, moving parts, and areas where excessive heat or abrasion may damage the hose.

Turbocharged applications and other high-heat engine bays require additional attention to fuel-line routing and thermal protection.

After installation, pressurize the fuel system and carefully inspect every connection for leaks before starting or operating the vehicle.

Professional installation is recommended if you are unfamiliar with AN fuel plumbing or chassis fuel-line modification.
