Product Description
90-93 Acura Integra DA Power Steering Delete Loop Kit
The JBtuned 1990-1993 Acura Integra DA Power Steering Delete Loop Kit provides a clean way to loop the hydraulic ports on the factory power steering rack when removing the power steering pump, reservoir, and hydraulic lines.
The DA Integra steering rack uses a four-port hydraulic configuration, so this application requires two separate loop hose assemblies rather than a single rack loop.
The kit allows the original power steering rack to remain in the vehicle after the external hydraulic power steering system has been removed.
Vehicle Fitment
- 1990 Acura Integra – DA
- 1991 Acura Integra – DA
- 1992 Acura Integra – DA
- 1993 Acura Integra – DA
This kit was designed around the factory four-port steering rack used in the 1990-1993 Acura Integra.
Designed for the DA Integra Four-Port Steering Rack
When the factory hydraulic power steering system is removed, the steering rack still contains the hydraulic passages originally used by the power-assist system.
The DA Integra rack has two pairs of hydraulic ports. The JBtuned kit connects those ports using two separate hose loops instead of leaving the rack ports open.
This provides a complete rack-loop solution without requiring the customer to source the individual metric adapters, AN connections, and hose assemblies separately.
JBtuned 250 Series Loop Hose
Current JBtuned DA power steering delete kits use JBtuned 250 Series hose for the steering-rack loop assemblies.
Earlier versions of this kit used high-pressure hydraulic power steering hose. That construction was considerably stiffer than necessary for this application and made the finished assemblies more difficult to route and work with.
The 250 Series hose provides the flexibility needed for the compact steering-rack loop while making installation and routing easier for both assembly and service.
Stainless Steel Steering Rack Fittings
The kit includes four stainless steel metric-to-AN steering-rack adapters for the factory DA Integra rack.
These adapters connect the original metric rack ports to the two JBtuned loop hose assemblies.
Using the correct rack adapters is important because the steering-rack ports use application-specific metric connections rather than standard AN threads.
What to Expect After Removing Power Steering Assist
This kit is intended for vehicles where the hydraulic power steering system is being removed.
Steering effort will be heavier than with functioning hydraulic power steering, particularly while parking or maneuvering the vehicle at very low speeds.
Once the vehicle is moving, the amount of steering effort required will generally be less noticeable than it is while stationary.
This Is Not a Manual Steering Rack Conversion
The JBtuned Power Steering Delete Loop Kit allows the original hydraulic steering rack to remain in the vehicle after the power-assist system has been removed.
The loop kit does not convert the internal steering rack into a factory-style manual steering rack.
Customers specifically seeking the characteristics of a dedicated manual rack would need an appropriate manual steering rack conversion.
Rack Condition Matters
This kit is intended for a usable steering rack when the customer wants to remove the external hydraulic power steering system.
A steering-rack loop does not repair a leaking, damaged, binding, or mechanically worn steering rack.
Existing rack problems should be repaired separately before or during the power steering delete.
Why Use a Power Steering Delete Loop?
Power steering delete setups are commonly used on modified, engine-swapped, track-oriented, and simplified engine-bay builds where the owner no longer wants to retain the original hydraulic power steering system.
Removing the pump, reservoir, and original hydraulic lines can simplify the engine bay and eliminate the need to route the factory power steering plumbing around engine swaps, turbo systems, headers, and other modifications.
The loop kit provides the required connections at the steering rack while allowing the external hydraulic components to be removed.
What's Included
- 2 × JBtuned 250 Series steering-rack loop hose assemblies
- 4 × Stainless steel metric-to-AN steering-rack adapters
The power steering pump, reservoir, steering rack, and original hydraulic lines are not included.
Possible Additional Fitment Applications
This kit was designed and verified for the 1990-1993 Acura Integra DA steering rack.
Some other early Honda and Acura steering racks use a similar four-port hydraulic configuration and may be compatible with the same basic loop arrangement.
A JBtuned customer has reported successful installation on a 1990-1993 Honda Accord equipped with a four-port steering rack. This is customer-reported fitment and has not been independently verified by JBtuned.
Certain EF Civic / CRX and other early Honda steering-rack configurations may also be worth comparing, but JBtuned has not verified those applications.
Do not assume compatibility based only on the appearance of the steering rack. Port thread sizes, port locations, hose routing, and rack versions can vary between chassis.
If you are considering this kit for an application other than a 1990-1993 Acura Integra, verify the steering-rack port configuration and thread sizes before ordering.
Before Ordering
This kit is intended for vehicles retaining a compatible factory hydraulic power steering rack while removing the external power-assist system.
Vehicles with an aftermarket rack, manual steering rack, swapped steering rack, or rack from another chassis should have the rack-port configuration verified before ordering.
