Product Description
Walbro 400 F90000262 High-Performance In-Tank Fuel Pump
The Walbro / TI Automotive F90000262 is a high-flow 400 LPH in-tank fuel pump designed for high-performance gasoline applications. Commonly referred to as the Walbro 400, this pump is part of TI Automotive's larger 39/50mm high-performance fuel-pump family.
Important: TI Automotive classifies the F90000262 for gasoline fuel service. It is not rated for E85 / flex-fuel applications. If your build will be running E85 or flex fuel, look at the compatible Walbro 450, 525 or 535 options farther down this page.
Walbro F90000262 Specifications
- Part Number: F90000262
- Common Name: Walbro 400

- Fuel: Gasoline
- Maximum Published System Pressure: 87 PSI
- Internal Check Valve: Yes
- Pump Body: 39mm / 50mm
- Type: High-flow in-tank fuel pump
The F90000262 is a good option for higher-output pump-gas builds that have outgrown a traditional Walbro 255 but do not require E85 / flex-fuel compatibility.
How Much Horsepower Can a Walbro 400 Support?
TI Automotive currently publishes horsepower reference figures of approximately 450 HP low and 650 HP high for the F90000262. These figures should be treated as general pump-selection guidance rather than a fixed horsepower limit.
Fuel pressure, voltage at the pump, fuel demand, injector size, boost pressure and the rest of the fuel system all affect how much power a pump can actually support.
Fuel-pump flow decreases as operating pressure increases, so the pump should be selected around the requirements of the complete fuel system rather than horsepower alone.
Walbro 400 vs. Walbro 450
The F90000262 Walbro 400 and F90000274 Walbro 450 use the larger 39/50mm pump design, but they are intended for different fuel-system requirements.
- F90000262 Walbro 400: 400 LPH, gasoline, 87 PSI maximum published system pressure
- F90000274 Walbro 450 High Pressure: 450 LPH, gasoline and E85 / flex-fuel compatible, 112 PSI maximum published system pressure
If the vehicle will remain on gasoline and the Walbro 400 provides enough fuel volume and pressure capability for the combination, the F90000262 is a solid choice. If you need E85 / flex-fuel compatibility, additional fuel volume or greater pressure capability, the F90000274 Walbro 450 or one of the larger pumps below may be more appropriate.
Building Your Own Fuel-Pump Wiring Pigtail?
The F90000262 uses the larger Walbro / TI Automotive connector family shared by the 400, 450, 525 and 535 pumps.
Walbro 400 / 450 / 525 / 535 Fuel Pump Connector Kit
This genuine OE-style connector kit includes:
- Connector body
- Wire lock
- 2 wire seals
- 3 terminals - one additional terminal is included for crimp practice
This is the correct connector kit if you want to build your own fuel-pump wiring pigtail for the F90000262 Walbro 400 on this page.
Compare JBtuned Walbro / TI Automotive Fuel Pumps
JBtuned carries several Walbro / TI Automotive in-tank fuel pumps. The correct pump depends on the fuel being used, required fuel volume, operating pressure, physical pump configuration and the requirements of the engine.

Installing the Walbro 400 in a Honda Civic or Acura Integra?
If this pump is going into a supported Honda Civic or Acura Integra OEM fuel-pump hanger, take a look at the:
JBtuned Civic / Integra OEM Fuel Pump Hanger Upgrade Kit
The hanger kit has a dedicated 400+ Series / Large Fuel Pump configuration designed for pumps including the Walbro / TI Automotive 400, 450, 525 and 535.
The large-pump configuration is available with 6AN, 8AN or 10AN feed, while the return remains 6AN. The kit also includes a two-wire electrical bulkhead for upgraded 12-14 AWG pump wiring and submersible PTFE in-tank tubing sized for the selected pump.
This allows the factory hanger to be upgraded along with the fuel pump instead of leaving the original small fuel and electrical connections as a restriction in the system.
Installing the Walbro 400 in a Nissan 240SX S13 or S14?
For Nissan 240SX S13 and S14 applications, JBtuned offers a dedicated hanger modification kit designed around the larger Walbro / TI Automotive pump body:

Before Installing a High-Flow Fuel Pump
A high-flow fuel pump is only one part of the complete fuel system. Make sure the pump wiring, electrical supply, filter, fuel lines, regulator, injectors, fittings and seals are capable of supporting the required fuel flow and fuel type.
The F90000262 is classified by TI Automotive for gasoline fuel service. For an E85 / flex-fuel system, select a pump specifically rated for flex-fuel use.
