Choosing the right fuel pump takes more than picking the biggest LPH number. Fuel type, operating pressure, boost pressure, electrical supply and the physical pump configuration all affect which pump is right for the build. Which Fuel Pump Should I Start With?

  • Gasoline / Compact 39mm Pump: Walbro 255 GSS340G3, GSS341G3 and GSS342G3. These pumps share the same basic 255 LPH high-pressure gasoline pump family but use different inlet configurations for different hanger and vehicle applications.
  • Gasoline / More Fuel Volume: Walbro 400 F90000262. A larger 39/50mm gasoline pump with a published 400 LPH flow rating at 40 PSI.
  • E85 / Compact 39mm Pump: AEM 50-1200 340 LPH. A compact high-flow pump compatible with gasoline, ethanol and methanol fuels.
  • E85 / High-Pressure 450: Walbro F90000274. The high-pressure version of the Walbro 450 with gasoline / flex-fuel compatibility and a 112 PSI maximum published system pressure.
  • E85 / Higher Output with Internal Check Valve: Walbro 525 F90000285. A higher-output 39/50mm flex-fuel pump with an internal check valve.
  • E85 / Highest-Output Brushed Pump Currently Offered by JBtuned: Walbro 535 F90000295. A higher-flow 39/50mm flex-fuel pump designed without an internal check valve.
  • Brushless Fuel Pump & Controller Systems: BKS-series brushless pump and controller options for applications requiring high fuel delivery with electronic pump control.

Not sure which pump you need? Start with the fuel you plan to run, then consider the fuel volume required at the actual operating pressure of the system. Pump flow decreases as fuel pressure increases, and boosted applications can operate well above base fuel pressure.
