Walbro 535 F90000295 E85 / Flex-Fuel In-Tank Fuel Pump
The TI Automotive F90000295, commonly known as the Walbro 535, is a high-output 39/50mm in-tank fuel pump designed for demanding gasoline and E85 / flex-fuel applications.
The F90000295 sits at the top of the brushed 39/50mm pump family currently offered by JBtuned. It provides additional fuel-pump capacity beyond the Walbro 450 and 525 while maintaining the high-pressure capability needed for naturally aspirated, turbocharged and supercharged fuel systems.
TI Automotive currently lists the F90000295 with a 490 LPH high-flow rating. The "Walbro 535" name is the pump's commonly recognized industry designation and should not be treated as one fixed flow number under every pressure and voltage condition.
Important: The F90000295 is the no-internal-check-valve version. This is intentional and is one of the major differences between the Walbro 535 F90000295 and the Walbro 525 F90000285.

Why Does the Walbro 535 Have No Internal Check Valve?
Unlike the F90000285 Walbro 525, the F90000295 does not use an internal check valve.
TI Automotive specifically designed the F90000295 without the internal check valve for racing applications. Without the check valve, fuel-system pressure can bleed down after the pump is shut off.
TI notes that this configuration can be useful in racing applications where the engine is cranked before fuel pressure is fully established, allowing oil pressure to begin building before the engine starts.
For a street-driven vehicle, keep in mind that a no-check-valve pump may behave differently during restart than a pump designed to retain fuel pressure after shutdown.
Walbro 535 F90000295 vs. Walbro 525 F90000285
The F90000285 and F90000295 are both high-output 39/50mm E85 / flex-fuel-compatible pumps, but they are not the same pump.

The F90000285 Walbro 525 is a strong choice when you want a high-output pump that retains an internal check valve. The F90000295 Walbro 535 provides additional pump capacity when the no-check-valve configuration is appropriate for the build.
Fuel Pressure Matters When Choosing a Fuel Pump
A fuel pump should not be selected by its model number or a horsepower number alone. Fuel type, base fuel pressure, boost pressure, voltage at the pump, injector demand and the rest of the fuel system all affect how much fuel the pump can actually supply.
For example, a return-style fuel system running 43.5 PSI base fuel pressure and 30 PSI of boost with a 1:1 rising-rate regulator requires the pump to operate against approximately 73.5 PSI of fuel pressure.
Fuel-pump flow decreases as operating pressure increases, so the complete pump flow curve and the requirements of the entire fuel system should be considered when selecting a pump.
How Much Horsepower Can the Walbro 535 Support?
There is no single horsepower number that applies to every F90000295 installation. TI Automotive publishes horsepower reference figures for the pump, but those numbers should be treated as general pump-selection guidance rather than a fixed horsepower limit.
E85 requires more fuel volume than gasoline for the same power level, and high boost increases the pressure the pump must work against. The actual fuel flow available at the pressure required by the engine is more useful when sizing a fuel system than the pump's model number alone.
JBtuned Install Kit Option
The optional install kit offered with this pump is not a complete universal Walbro installation kit. JBtuned puts this kit together specifically for use with our fuel-pump hanger modification kits.
The F90000295 install-kit option includes:

The JBtuned pigtail is built in-house using OEM-quality connectors and seals with upgraded 12 AWG Tefzel / Mil-Spec wire.
When using one of the JBtuned hanger modification kits, we recommend ordering the hanger kit and pump install kit together. The electrical bulkhead needs to be incorporated into the pump wiring arrangement, and the available space on the hanger is extremely tight.

The F90000295 uses the larger Walbro / TI Automotive connector family shared by the 400, 450, 525 and 535 pumps.

Before Installing a High-Flow Fuel Pump
A high-flow fuel pump is only one part of the complete fuel system. Make sure the pump wiring, electrical supply, filter, fuel lines, regulator, injectors, fittings and seals are capable of supporting the fuel flow and fuel type being used.
The F90000295 is designed for gasoline and E85 / flex-fuel applications, but every component in the complete fuel system must also be compatible with the fuel being used.
